Krabi is located on the south coast of Thailand 800 km from Bangkok. It is 2 hours from Phuket by boat or 160 km by road. Looking at our map of Krabi, the capital bearing the same name is well developed boasting an excellent infra structure, but is not the most popular location in the area for tourists. Aonang takes first prize as far as popularity go's and is a ten minute drive outside the town centre. This is the region's entertainment hub and features luxury beachfront hotels to cheap accommodation.
Together with Aonang, Railay Beach is unsurpassed in its exotic beauty and though on the mainland it is only reachable by boat from either Chao Pha Pier in town or from Anang. The exotic bay is a good place to look for romantic honeymoon hotels like the 5 star Rayavadee which provides their guests with complimentary shuttle boat service to and from the resort. Northern beaches like Noppparat Thara are the best places to stay if you enjoy seclusion while being able to access Aonang within 5 minutes.
Here is a tip on how to use our map to see how to get to Krabi from Phuket, Bangkok, Koh Samui or any other destination in Thailand if yo are traveling by road and/or by boat .
