Before planning your vacation and booking resorts in Phi Phi Island, first see what the weather will be like and then decide which will be the best time to go. The island is located in Krabi Province to the south of Thailand and therefore experience the same weather conditions during the same time of year as popular places like Koh Lanta and Phuket. The weather is warm all year round and even during the rainy season more sun than rain is often experienced.
The rainy season is start from May and last until November with an average temperature of approximately 28 degrees Celsius. This is the “low season” seeing hotel accommodation cheaper than other times of year as well as great special deals. The down side is that if you are here for scuba diving, underwater visibility might not be at it's best.
Another is that sea conditions may not be conducive to boat travel every day and limit your sightseeing time. Our advice is not to book boat tours in advance, but rather when you are on the island and know the weather will be good. You can book excursions as little as 18 hours in advance. The weather in Koh Phi Phi is at its best from December until April. During this time you will see little rain and average temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius. December and January will see the highest hotel prices, but keep an eye on April. It falls in the low season which means you will find cheap accommodation deals, but weather conditions will still be fine.
