We often get asked when is the best time to go to Thailand and which area will have the least probability of rain. Well, here is some interesting news. For a beach break, the weather in Hua Hin is undoubtedly the best compared to anywhere else in Thailand. Due to its signature surrounding hills it has its own micro climate which sees less severe changes in seasons. You simply need to decide if you like it hot and dry, cooler with breezes, or the freshness of occasional showers.
If you wish to experience this regions hot season, February until May is your time. There is no rain during this time with an average minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius is experienced at night and an average maximum of 34 degrees Celsius during the day. In the afternoon there is usually moderate winds which makes it the best time for kite boarding.
The moderate rainy season runs June to October with minimum temperature around 23 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. The average rainfall per month during this time is approximately 90 mm which comes in heavy thunder showers lasting an hour or so. From October to November the weather changes, things dry up and temperatures are relatively moderate.
November to February sees the cool season in Hua Hin and the locals love this reprieve from the heat. There is definitely no rain and therefore humidity is low. At night we bring our jackets out to insulate us from minimums averaging 20 degrees Celsius. During the day we are comfortable with average 28 degrees Celsius.
