As we have mentioned elsewhere, this charming island retains its authentic character much better than many of its competitors, irrespective of it now boasting sever 5 star hotels. One of the reasons is that transportation in Koh Phangan is limited to only a few basic options as is the number of vehicles and congested traffic on its roads is therefore non-existent.
But then again, this is not a place where public transport is required in high volume. It is a much smaller island than Koh Samui for instance and besides heading for the villages of Haadrin and Tong sala where restaurants bars and pubs feature in high numbers along the narrow alleys, the best place to be is on the beach in front of your resort.
