Thailand Tourist Police

The Tourist Police in Thailand wear a distinctive badge and uniform and are found in all major tourist centers. Expect to see them when you visit hotels in Bangkok in the south to hotels in Chiang Mai in the north and other destinations wher tourists might find them selves. Thailand Tourist Police are naturally bilingual, speaking Thai and English and sometimes even some other European languages. They can be called upon by tourists for anything from resolving disputes, road traffic incidents to theft or any other type of situation a foreigner may find him or her self in. They execute their task in an unbiased and amicable manner and are in fact the first friend of any tourist in Thailand. Thailand has a reputation of being a safe travel destination, even for single female travelers. The Tourist Police Division has been established to help make sure it stays that way.
