Pattaya Million Year Stone Park

The Million Year Stone Park is located just 15 minutes drive from Pattaya. It was founded by Khun Suan Phanomwattanakul, a Thai businessman, who, through his love of nature and the need for the preservation thereof and of course, due to his love of his beautiful country, dedicated 30 years of his life collecting rare and ancient objects for display in the park.

From 1989 to 1992 he constructed the farm which was designed according only to his ideas and imagination. A truly wonderful accomplishment.

Today the park offers tourists the opportunity to view beautiful gigantic rock gardens, exotic plants which include 100 million year old Petrified trees, Thai style trained trees over 200 years old and the largest artificial waterfall in Thailand. Huge rocks shaped like animals weighing up to 75 tons each add to this kaleidoscope of beauty. Animals to be seen here include thousands of crocodiles, both salt and freshwater, snakehead fish from the Amazon and giant catfish weighing 500 kilograms.

Elephants, camels, lions and even Albino bears, form part of the inhabitants of the farm. Make sure you book a ticket for the crocodile show, but be warned, it is not for the faint hearted.

Pattaya Nightlife
Pattaya Nightlife
The nightlife in Pattaya city is mainly located around Soi (street) 13 to 16 in the south of Pattaya, inter-linked by small side streets. It is loud, wild and raunchy. Here you will find anything a tourist could want on a night out in town. At night, the area is closed for traffic, seeing thousands of people, certainly many tourists, walking the area in search of whatever they desire, hence the name Walking Street.

Go-Go Bars, cabaret shows, beer bars, restaurants and massage parlors by the dozens are ready to welcome you in and comply with requests. Many are of course attracted to Pattaya due its reputation for solicited sex and the availability of beautiful young Thai women. If this is your thing, you can certainly have your share. However, don’t let the perception created about Pattaya’s nightlife make you hesitant to go on a walking tour of the area if this is not your thing. It is as safe as any other and the night shopping is great.

Have a beer somewhere or something to eat with friends and family and enjoy your self looking at some of the spectacles.  In short, Pattaya is the center of all parties. The nightlife is often believed to be better than Bangkok. The atmosphere somehow is just better and it has a more holiday feel to it all.

Pattaya Nightlife
Happy-a-go-go, Carousel, and the doll House must be on the top of the list of go-go bars. Electric Blue is another with its three level stage and American style restaurant. If you want it a little less raunchy and wish for something more laid back and retiring, head for Naklua. Compared to the wild vibe in Pattaya, Naklua is almost devoid of the hard core action found in Pattaya. There are a handful of beer bars  where you can pick-up or just chat with girls down sois 18 and 33. Names include Tutti Frutti, Sloppy Joe's and Barracuda Bar. There is also a Thai-orientated disco on Naklua Road called Star Dice.

Tiffany's is a 30 year old ladyboy cabaret extravaganza. Here the Trans-gender performers will stun you with cabaret shows three times each night.  With feminine features to make most women envious, painted nails and colourfull dresses, they entertain with shows like no other. Be sure to save an evening for this live entertainment extravaganza. You won’t easily forget it.

As full of sights and activities Pattaya is during the day, so much it has to offer the nocturnal among us and a stay in this beach front town is almost always too short.

At the top of a hill in the south of Pattaya sits the Big Buddha statue built completely by hand. It took monks more than a year to complete this statue. Along the base of the statue are several other Buddhist each representing a different role in the life of Buddhists. The steps leading to the top of the hill are flanked by two huge golden seven-headed nagas. The naga is a sacred mythical dragon-like creature that often appears on the balustrades of temple causeways and platforms ("naga bridges"), where they personify the rainbow as a bridge between the earthly and celestial worlds.
