Koh Phangan Resorts - Transportation

Koh Phangan is not really an island where many transport options are required. It is a much smaller island than Koh Samui for instance and therefore, though extremely popular, also able to accommodate a lower number of tourists.

Scooter Rentals & Taxi's
	On Koh Phangan, scooters are probably the most popular mode of transport. Most Koh Phangan resorts have 115cc scooters for rent and will cost you anything from 150THB and 250 THB for the day. This makes it the cheapest and fastest way around the island. The steep hills, sharp bends and many other road users do not make it the safest option though. If you do rent a scooter, use a helmet and drive slowly.

Scooter Taxi
	Great for short distances and available at virtually all hours of the day and night. They wear red, green or yellow vests and will take you anywhere. Do negotiate the price before you get on. Fares depend on the distance and your bargaining skills. Not the safest mode of transport but convenient.

Songthaews / Baht Bus
	Transportation on Koh Phangan also include the Songthaews. These pick-up truck taxis are readily available and will get you anywhere on the island where a car can go at very reasonable fees. This is the best and safest transport after dark. Apart from being the safest, it is of course also very original and fun to use.
