Several options exist for transfer to your Koh Phangan resort from several locations. As with all transport requirements in Thailand, these are as easy as it is fun. Depending on your choice of transport, you could get to Koh Phangan resorts fast and less cheap or take a longer and cheap journey which could be more exiting and informative than the less cheap options. Below are the explanations for transfer to a resort in Koh Phangan transfer options and how to get to Koh Phangan.

The fastest and easiest way to get to Koh Phangan resorts is by one hour flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui and from there by ferry service to Thong Sala Pier Koh Phangan.

Ferry tickets can be bought at the tourist info kiosk at the airport in Bangkok or any tourist or travel agency. Alternatively you can also take a speed boat from Bophut Pier on Koh Samui to Koh Phangan.

A cheaper traveling option would be by air from Bangkok to the domestic airport of Surat Thani. The flight time is one hour. Here you can buy a bus ticket to be transferred from Surat Thani to Don Sak Pier. The ride takes approximate 90 minutes. From Don Sak a 45min ferry trip will get you to Thong Sala Pier, Koh Phangan, where many taxis will be waiting to take you to your resort. Again, the ferry ticket can be bought on the airport in Bangkok or any tourist center or at Don Sak Pier.

Getting there by Train
Getting to Koh Phangan by Train
An even cheaper way of getting to Koh Phangan is by scenic train journey from Bangkok to Surat Thani. Train tickets can be bought at the Hua Lam Pong Station in Bangkok. It is also possible to buy a train and ferry combination ticket. From Surat Thani you will have to transfer by bus to Don Sak Pier from where a ferry will take you to Koh Phangan.

If you want to travel at night to save day time, the most convenient train leaves at 18:30 pm and arrives in Surat Thani eleven hours later at 05:45 am, leaving enough time to get to Don Sak to catch a ferry from there. Several trains leave Bangkok for Surat Thani during the day if admiring the scenic environment is more your thing.
