Though the island does have internet cafe’s, medical assistance and a few other amenities available, we suggest you carry enough cash for the duration of your stay since the availability of ATM’s may pose a problem.

One of the mentionable attributes of Koh Mak, is that at low tide you are able to walk to neighbouring islet, Koh Kham, less than one kilometer north west of Ko Maak. Koh Phi is another islet also north west of Ko Mak and is completely uninhabited. Alternatively, kayaking to these two little islands is worth the effort to go and explore at your own time and leisure and snorkel among its marine beauty.

There are no ATM’s on Koh Mak (and Koh Kood). The bigger resorts (Koh Mak Resort, Good Time Resort, Cococape Resort and Makathanee Resort) accept credit-cards, but you should bring enough cash with you. The next ATM is in Bang Bao Koh Chang but this option takes 45 Minutes (one-way) and cost about 1300 Baht (return) just to get cash. Traveler Checks and US Dollars are accepted sometimes but also for a low exchange rate.
