Koh Mak lies in the province of Trat, to the south of the country in the gulf of Thailand, between Koh Kut and Koh Chang. For transfer to Ko Mak from Bangkok’s southern bus terminal, air conditioned and non air conditioned buses leave for Laem Ngop Pier in Trat city hourly from 06:00 am until midnight. The cost for a ticket on the VIP van is approximately 300 Baht. The average travel time is 7 hours. Alternatively, Bangkok airways fly the route between Trat and Bangkok twice daily. From Laem Ngop Pier, ferries leave for Koh Chang and from there to Samakkeethom Pier on Koh Mak several times daily. Alternatively you can also fly on one of several flights daily from Bangkok Airport to Trat. From the airport or anywhere else in Trat, many taxis will be available to transport you to the pier. From Koh Chang, boats leave from Bang Bao Pier to Koh Mak daily or from the maniland from Laem Ngob and Laem Sok Piers in Trat. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
