Transport availability and transportation costs is one of the highlights of visiting Thailand and therefore also in Khao Lak. Transport in Khao Lak is as plentiful and fun as anywhere else in Thailand.

Taxis are a popular means of getting around in Khao Lak. Taxis operate in all the beach areas, though open air buses are cheaper (buses only travel from North to South along the main road). |

Scooter Taxi |
|

Great for short distances and available at virtually all hours of the day and night. They wear red, green or yellow vests and will take you anywhere. Do negotiate the price before you get on. Fares depend on the distance and your bargaining skills. Not the safest mode of transport but convenient. |

Scooters |

Khao Lak transportation options also include the ever popular scooters. Motorcycles are readily available and probably the most convenient way of travel. Many Khao Lak hotels will also have their own scooters for rent. |
