Hua Hin transportation is as cheap and plentiful as anywhere else in Thailand and below is a short description on how to get around. Many 5 star hotels in Hua Hin offer shuttle services, dropping off and picking up tourists at specific places and areas of interest. Some are free and some charge a small fee.
Tuk Tuk’s are a favorite mode of transport and they are waiting for business everywhere you look. Parked outside the entrances of hotels, in front of the Market Village shopping Mall, at the markets and along roads all over town transport is readily available. Of course, meter taxis are as readily available to take you anywhere in and around town and even as far as Bangkok. Several car rental agencies are located here should you wish to travel at your own time and leisure and scooters are also for rent.
Scooter Taxis are great for short distances and available early morning until 22:00. They wear red, green or yellow vests and will take you anywhere. Do negotiate the price before you get on. Fares depend on the distance and your bargaining skills. Not the safest mode of transport but convenient. Samlors (bicycle rickshaws) are available for short journeys and costs almost nothing. Alternatively, travel with the locals in a Songthaew or baht bus (pic-up truck) for approximately 20 Baht to any destination in town.
