Should you however wish to make your Bangkok hotel transfer part of the adventure, we offer an explanation of the different options below. Most tourists who travel to Thailand enter the country by air, via Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Several options exist for transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport to hotels in Bangkok. Upon stepping out the airport terminal, several taxi operators will be waiting to transfer you to your Bangkok hotel. Like the rest of Thailand, the transport infrastructure in Bangkok has been developed and fine tuned around making sure a tourist never has to even ask around about transport. The transport literally looks for the tourists and most taxi operators are willing to negotiate their fares to some extent at least. As explained however, arriving in Bangkok after a long flight, looking for a taxi and negotiating fares might not be the most exiting activity to look forward to, so leave it to us to make sure you are taken care of. The Limousine Taxi Company has a booth inside the airport building just as you exit the gates. These are smart new cars (not really limousines), air conditioned and all the other frills of driving in style. They are however by far the most expensive. If you are willing to travel the 30 – 40 minutes into Bangkok a little less classy, and are willing to negotiate a lower fee, you can save up twice the cost of a limousine taxi. Walk outside the terminal to find many other taxi operators willing to negotiate. Alternatively you can also arrange with the airport for a shuttle service. These are air conditioned mini vans which take up to seven people. They are comfortable and probably the least expensive option. Of course lately, The Airport Rail Link is another option to avoid the traffic. two options exist. Either the Express Link or the City Line. The City Line is much less expensive, about half the prices of the Express. The express does not sop at every station though and travel time is much less. Using this option you do not even have to leave the airport terminal. Simply follow the signs from the customs exit gate, buy your ticket and commute into the city. The Airport Rail Link, links up with the BTS Sky Train and MRT under ground at Payatai Station, Makkassan and Ramkamaeng Station to take commuters to different parts of the city. Back to Top |
